Community support work is wonderful and challenging, heartwarming and heartbreaking, and by its very nature, full of complexity and conflict. Coupled with a frequent lack of clarity of roles and ineffective communication, misunderstandings or frustration among staff and volunteers are not uncommon and can hinder an organization's ability to achieve its mission. In this interactive session we’ll cover the best practices to effectively engaging volunteers—from how to plan and prepare for volunteer involvement to strategies for building buy-in from colleagues and leadership. You will leave this session with practical tools for creating sound structure and nurturing a culture where staff and volunteers thrive as a cohesive team.
This is Part 3 of a four part series.
